My name is Gerard. I am a Marine Science Researcher and I mostly work across the lines of invertebrate reproduction and water quality. This blog is mostly a place where I can post code that might be useful to other researchers in areas where there seems to be clear and easy solutions lacking. I have a bias to effect-size based metrics and hope to provide some alternative options to classic categorical/ANOVA type designs and interpretations. I feel one of the main reasons there is not a greater uptake of effect-size metrics (and designs that allow for them) is because of a lack of worked examples out there in marine ecology, and this is my contribution.
